Nine/Rose Smile
It's been a very, very long time since a movie gave me goosebumps.

August Rush did that pretty much all the way through.

My only regret is that I didn't get to see this in theaters!

Amazing.  Amazing.

The Doctor Likes to Watch
The other day I was outside doing some tidying up, when my new next-door neighbor, who I had yet to formally meet, walked across the lawn and pointed at my breasts.

"Is that the TARDIS on your chest?" he asked.

I must have looked as confused as I was (Seriously, who starts a conversation like that with a complete stranger?!), because he quickly motioned his hands a bit lower, and said rather sheepishly, "Your shirt."

I looked down, finally remembering that I'd quickly thrown on my Doctor Who t-shirt that morning.  There was, indeed, a Police Public Call Box emblazoned across my chest.

"Oh!  Yes, it is.  You're a Doctor Who fan?"

"Yup.  All the way back to the Tom Baker days."

I very quickly went from wondering if I was going to need to slap the guy to chatting away about science fiction, favorite Doctors, and the neighborhood in general.  After talking for a bit, he said he needed to get going, and started to head back to his house.  He stopped after a few steps and turned around, flashing a grin.

"By the way, love the t-shirt."

HOLY CRAP, I'M LIVING NEXT DOOR TO CAPTAIN JACK.

Geeking out over the first series premiere since becoming a Doctor Who fan: PRICELESS.

Thoughts on Partners in Crime later. :)
Rose & Sarah Jane LOL
When I was little, I always suspected that my toys came alive after I went to sleep.  Yesterday I was faced with undeniable proof of this fact.

I have several Doctor Who figures in front of my computer monitor, including a couple of Ten and Rose.  Yesterday morning I arrived at my desk to find the Doctor lying flat on his back, with Rose on top of him.  I found this endlessly amusing.

(In reality I think one of the cats jumped up onto my desk during the night and knocked them over, but hey, you never know.)

Rose Pink & Yellow
I have a nature calendar up in my office, and I realized last night that I hadn't flipped it over to February yet.  (Opps.)  The picture for February is pink roses, with the following quote by Willa Cather:

"Oh this is the joy of the rose -- that it blooms and goes."

Clearly, Willa Cather never saw Doomsday.
